This year Ellen and Isaiah participated in a soccer camp.
They really liked it.
Ellen was most interested in the new friends she was making.
Zai was pretty interested in getting open and getting that ball kicked.
There we go, there's Ellen involved in some ball action.

One of the lenses I rented was a 14mm.
That thing was pretty sweet.
It's totally on my list of fun lenses to buy in the future.
I kinda like the facial distortions.
That boy and his tongue!
And the fact that you can get about 1/2 an inch away from what you're shooting. (See my fingers on the left there? I'm trying to gauge my distance and make sure I don't bonk her on the nose.) Granted this would be downright freaky on a shoot...but with the kiddos in the front yard it's just good fun.
It's also super fun for taking group self portraits.
You totally avoid that crazy squished chin and odd arm sticking out you normally get and can instead focus on making goofy faces.
Isaiah had been inside ignoring our fun, but finally I convinced him to come out.
Plus! the lens is so dang close you can use it as a mirror to see when the kiddos in your lap are not cooperating.
Joel was taking a nice long nap, but once he woke up I got him out there too.
We went to a parade a while back.
I was playing with some lenses I'd rented for the weekend.
Isaiah had that Wave-at-the-parade-participants-and-they'll-throw-you-candy" thing down solid.
Brennan thought anyone dressed up in a costume was hysterical.
The kids have been watching us rock the cash budget system for a while now and they've all (Ellen especially) been wanting their own organizer. This summer Target had them in the dollar section and their dreams were fulfilled.
Zaiah's categories are:
Candy, Giving, Saving, McDonald's, Mike's Drive In and Divine Yogurt.
Brennan keeps candy in his.
Ellen's categories are:
Saving, club expenses (for when she finally gets to start a club), spending, restaurants, sleepovers, & movies (both for buying a Brady Bunch dvd and for movie tickets, I've been informed.)
Brennan loves typing on it and Isaiah is perfectly happy to help him sound out the words he wants.
The blog has been rather quiet lately. That's mostly cause things have been down right insane around here.
We've had dead computers, dead external drives, weddings, parades, camping trips, birthdays, fruit to pick and preserve, babies who refuse to sleep, a yard sale, and I don't even know what else. Did I mention a baby who won't sleep?
I'll save you the details and just start posting pictures...
First up, some poppers. Who doesn't like dancing and throwing popping fireworks? Am I the only one who is reminded of the old movie Holiday Inn?

Dave loooooves flowers. And since he's the primary (okay only) fireworks lighter, we all love them too.
I think these are my favorites.

Tball season is officially over.
Zai got to play pitcher and first base (his favorite position) for his last game. He's number 9, running for the ball.
The other kids and I played with Joel and the camera.
He's been getting lots of kisses lately.
I've been shooting with my macro a lot lately. Love it.
We had a rare day of sun a couple weeks ago and I promptly went out to buy some water toys.
The kids put them to good use.
See Isaiah being tricky with the hose faucet? Some one's about to get sprayed a little more intensely than they anticipated.
