Yesterday we went for a walk in the redwoods.They're pretty big.
Some of us were a little exhausted.
Running through the tree hollows was super fun.
As was just running in general.
I took a few pictures.
We took a few rests (and I tried to get my white balance figured out...)
There's a little town right next to the redwoods that has these fun cutouts. Isaiah was totally into hamming up the convict role.
Brennan thought hardabout what a horse actually feels like.
It was pretty fun. :)
We went back to the woods last weekend.
We looked for the frogs we heard calling to us.
We took some pictures
We walked and walked and walked.
We practiced some new skills - wink-wink
And we kept our eyes out for deer. (there were none. It amazes me that this is directly across the trail from that brown and orange leafy goodness in the previous picture.
We saw mossy logs. Lots of mossy logs.
Some of us got a little help on the walk back to the car.
I can't wait to see this place in the snowy winter. And then the spring. Oh my word. I may have found my new favorite place.
Yesterday, the kids I and and some friends went for a walk in the woods. Well, really it was the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. But I like the sound of "the woods" better. It was awesome.
We stopped at a nicely placed bench for some lunch after a bit. Lunch is important.
The kids had a fabulous time climbing up and down this hill. Ellen was an awesomely sweet big sister helping Brennan navigate it a bit.
At one point I asked Ellen if she'd like to model for me and she happily obliged.

Isaiah thought crazy looked like a lot of fun so he got in on the action too.
On our way back we saw a couple deer out in the field. They were carefully observed and photographed.
And of course, we stumbled across a dandelion flower. Which always deserves to be photographed. I love how Isaiah is getting up close to it. His picture is up on his blog along with a few others. Ellen's got a post up too.
