The kids and I were at the thrift store the other day and remembered we wanted to look for puzzles. We found two we wanted to take home (well really four, but we decided that might be a touch excessive). A 100 piece "Where's Waldo" puzzle for the kids and this lovely 600 piece world map.
Immediately upon returning home Isaiah busted out the Where's Waldo puzzle and eventually discovered it was missing two pieces. He was pretty disappointed since it hadn't warned him it was missing anything. He rationalized that since another puzzle contained a warning of missing pieces, this one was obviously improperly represented. A valid point.
This map puzzle, however, still had all the pieces sealed inside that brand new plastic-puzzle-piece bag that new puzzles have (I assume. New puzzles have a bag for the pieces, right?)

Once the kids went to bed Dave and I got busy.
With the puzzle.
Got busy putting together the puzzle.
Sorting water from country turned out to be a good second step.

First, of course was the edges. Edges always come first. I don't know how many times I've said that to the munchkins. "Edges! Look for the edges, munchkins!" Happens every day.
And then,

...three hours and one apple later, the world was complete.

Not bad for a buck.
