On Saturday we went to Bauman Farm's Pumpkin Festival.
They were having a giant pumpkin weigh in.
This, by the way, is the kids version of "Holy Moly! That's a huge pumpkin!!" Brennan was not quite sure what I meant by that at first.
Then it clicked.
Did you have any idea there is such a thing as a green pumpkin? Me neither.
Awww, pumpkin love.
Some of the pumpkins were provided with their very own water supply.
It's a Bauman Farm tradition to pick up some of the smaller pumpkins (300 lbs or so) and drop them into a pool from about 200 feet up. By helicopter.
I think this was a practice run. It wasn't nearly 200 feet up.
But it was still a loooong fall.
Ready....?
KER-SPLASH!!!!
They liked it.
Alright now, here's the real deal.
Yep. This one is definitely gonna fall from 200 feet.
Ready??
No. This was the point I lost the helicopter in the sun, pulled back to see what was going on and just about missed the entire thing.
I'm fairly sure the splash was much bigger than this. But it's all I got. And I zoomed it in to the point of blurriness to show you all those dark splotches. Those are rubber ducks you can buy (the money goes to Make-A-Wish foundation). The duck that lands the farthest away from the pool wins! I have no idea what you win, but at the very least the admiration of all the other rubber duck purchasers.
After all that fun we discovered this man carving a 1000lb pumpkin. Or punkin as everyone at this awesome festival kept saying.
And Look!!! High walking goats! Or something. I was pretty excited about the goats walking over our heads. Isaiah didn't really seem to care. He'd found something more exciting.
A place to pose.
