things...

...are...

...blooming!!!
I've mentioned a time or two Isaiah can be a finicky eater. Not really finicky I guess as incredibly certain about what will be good and what won't. Almost all of his opinions have held steady since he could talk. He's always liked orange cheese. Never like white cheese. Always liked Costco pizza, never liked any other kind. He's never liked meat. Always liked just about every fruit. Never liked eggs. Never never liked eggs.
The only time I was physically sick during pregnancy were the two time I ate eggs while pregnant with Isaiah. He's really truly never liked them.
Until this week.
All the sudden this week he's trying things. This morning he actually requested some of the eggs the rest of us were eating. I gave him some, but just a little in case he threw them up.
This weekend he ate pizza. the not from costco kind. and today he ate string cheese. string cheese is white!!!
This may be due to the "you-have-to-try-one-"new"-thing-a-day" rule we have for him, or it may just be he's getting older. Whatever the cause, its freaking me out. All the sudden the boy is eating again!

There's a slight incline in our back yard and they were riding down it and into the basement door, hooping and hollering the whole way.

the kids have been having a huge amount of fun gathering dandelion bouquets lately.

The kids wanted to help clean up the house to get ready for our friends coming over this afternoon. it was their idea to clean the deck.
Bob's Red Mill is pretty local for us. Today they had a grand opening of their new mill/shipping building. They were offering tours, pancake breakfasts and cooking demonstrations throughout the day which sounded super fun to us. so we went.

for the tour we all were required to wear safety goggles and hair nets. even brennan. he wore the goggles for about 1 second.

We went first thing in the morning and by the time we were done with our tour, the pancake breakfast line was out the door and moving very slowly. So we thought maybe we'd make our own pancakes. We came home, had lunch, played with some friends, and decided shoot - lets go back and see if the line is gone. So we did and it was.

and we decided while we were there,

we might as well take the tour again.

This time we were the lucky recipients of a giveaway and Ellen did a little happy dance.

it was pretty fun.
eating breakfast this morning zaiah noticed it was light outside and let me in on a little secret:
"It's daytime outside! Because the sun is a flashlight. And when its nighttime, because the sun is not a flashlight."
genius i tell you
